BABY CLINIC NEWS!

Our Child Health Immunizations Clinic are held every Tuesday from 11:15 am - 1:30 pm.

This service is for well children only, parents with unwell babies (vomiting, fever and diarrhoea) should  contact the surgery.

Cervical Screening

Did you know…

Cervical cancer is largely preventable.

Cervical smear tests saves 5,000 lives a year in the UK.

Cervical smear test last five minutes but the impact of the test can last a lifetime.

Do you know…   

All women aged 25 to 64 who are registered with a GP are invited for Cervical screening.

If you have registered for GP online Access you can book your cervical smear test online or alternatively come into to practice a book at reception.

If you would like further information on Cervical Screening, pleas speak to the receptionist.

Did you know…

The Hub service offers Smear Screening appointments in the evening and at the weekend seven days a week, please ask at reception for more details.  

Cervical screening is a test to detect abnormalities that can be treated to prevent cancer developing. Being tested regularly (every 3-5 years) provides a high degree of protection against developing cervical cancer.
 

Adult Immunisations - by appointment

We offer a full range of injections  and immunisations which include, Tetanus Polio, Diphtheria, Influenza (flu) and pneumococcal. Meningitis C vaccinations are also available for 18—25 year olds.


Baby Clinic - drop-in (for Well Children)

From the 7th March the baby clinic will be held on Tuesday mornings 10:30am - 12:30pm at the surgery. 

baby_StethoscopeWe operate a weekly Baby Clinic, with a Practice Nurse and a GP.  Our team offer general advice and support for common health problems (i.e. common colds, teething and feeding problems). We also provide general advice and routine vaccinations, 8 week checks, weighing of babies and offer parental advice. Please note, 8 week baby checks must be booked in advance at the surgery .

Parents and (well) children up to 5 years old are welcome to attend for general advice and vaccination. Parents of unwell babies and children should contact the surgery for an urgent appointment, in the usual way, by telephone triage by the duty doctor.


Cervical Screening - by appointment

Routine cervical smears  are advised for women aged 25-65 with the  practice nurse at three yearly intervals. Please book your appointment for a time when you do not have your period. The red blood cells obscure the picture when looking for abnormal cells under the microscope.


Choose & Book

If your GP believes you need hospital treatment or specialist care elsewhere, they will ask you where and when you would like to go. They can then book your appointment electronically while you wait.  If you would prefer to have some time to think before deciding where and when to have the treatment, you will be offered the option of calling the Booking Service directly, during the specified opening times.


Travel Clinic - by appointment

We give advice and injections before travel abroad. Please make your appointment at least 8 weeks before you travel.  Please be aware that some of the recommended injections are a private service and are not available on the NHS. Please make a separate appointment for each person travelling.


Diabetic Clinic - by appointment

The Diabetic Clinic is run by Dr Salpadoru. Referrals to this clinic are made by your usual doctor or nurse.

The aim of the clinic is to help control your risk factors, monitor medication and provide follow up. This care is in addition to that provided by your usual doctor.


GP_consultCounselling

A counselling service is available at the Surgery and referrals are made by the doctor.


Smoking Cessation & Weight Management Clinics

Referrals to these clinics are initially made by the doctor.


Charges for Non NHS Work

There is a range of services which we provide which are not covered by the NHS for which we charge a fee.  A complete list of charges is available upon request.  These services include parking permits and private medical insurance forms, some travel vaccinations and employment medicals.
